Virginia Man Scores $2.2M Lottery Win After Streak of Misfortune

A Virginia contractor, Brent Butler from Woodbridge, is celebrating after winning over $2 million in a Lottery game, turning his luck around after a series of disappointments.

Despite feeling discouraged by his previous attempts, Butler decided to give it one last shot and played the Banker’s Bonus game on the Virginia Lottery app. This time, his persistence paid off, landing him a massive jackpot of $2,204,371.

Butler wasn’t the only one thrilled by the win; his wife was even more excited about the unexpected windfall. “I can tell you my wife was more happy than me,” he shared with a smile.

Banker’s Bonus, one of the Mega Money Jackpots games available in Virginia, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania, features a progressive jackpot that continues to grow until someone wins. Butler was the latest lucky player to hit it big.

As for plans for the money, Butler said he’ll start by paying off some bills. However, he hinted that he might take a break from work, joking, “I might not go to work today.” For now, the newly-minted millionaire is simply enjoying his incredible stroke of luck.
