Authorities in Virginia are searching for a man in connection with a break-in at the Trump for President 2024 campaign office in Ashburn. The office, which also serves as the headquarters for the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee, was burglarized on Monday night.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were alerted to the break-in around 9:00 p.m. ET, but by the time they arrived, the suspect had already fled. Surveillance footage released by officials shows an adult male suspect dressed in dark clothing, a dark cap, and carrying a backpack.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the sheriff’s office has not yet confirmed whether anything was stolen or if anything suspicious was left at the scene.

Sheriff Mike Chapman expressed the unusual nature of the incident in a statement, saying,

“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into. We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind.”

The campaign office is a leased space that doubles as the base for the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee.
