I want to start off by thanking you for your patience as we find our way through uncharted events associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Everyday provides new challenges, and new challenges provide new communication issues with you, and each other. My hope is that we will be successful in reaching you through our common communications channels, website and mass notification systems, as it pertains to next week’s 2020 EM Workshop.
As you can imagine, it is difficult to find platforms that work for everyone, and this case is no exception. The OEMA Executive Board has been working very closely with OEM to provide an option that will allow anyone and everyone the opportunity to participate, virtually, at next week’s workshop. WebEx is the platform that allows us the most participants, allows for voting, and allows for multiple presenters.
Very soon we will be pushing out a link on the https://Oklahomaema.com website for you to register for the workshop. Once you register, you will receive a set of instructions from Kelsey Schwartz from OEM which will help guide you through the process of downloading and setting up WebEx for the meeting. There will be time from 8am to 9am on August 12 to test connections, audio, video and other needs with OEM staff.
If you are a member of the association, you will have the opportunity to vote on the following items: suggested by-law changes, membership dues increase and the president and secretary of the executive board. In addition, we will also announce the area vice-presidents and the alternate area vice-presidents for each area.
If you are interested in one of the available positions, or would like to nominate someone to one of the executive positions, please contact Kary Cox as soon as possible. This will allow his committee time to vet the nominees. Kary’s email is: firstname.lastname@example.org.
